With Proteinza we have increased the protein content, whilst keeping the delicious toppings and bubbly, melting cheese to make it really hit the spot. Studies have shown that foods higher in protein and fat are more satisfying and keep you fuller for longer.
Every food has a Thermic Effect of Food (TEF). We can show the TEF depending on the macronutrient within the food. This is the amount of calories you burn getting the nutrition out of the food based on which nutrients it is made out of. The three major nutrients (macronutrients) are carbohydrates, fats and protein.
TEF of Carbohydrates: 5 – 15% of the energy consumed (sugars have lower TEF than starches)
TEF of Fat: at most 5 – 15% of the energy consumed
TEF of Protein: 20-35% of the energy consumed.
Scenario 1: If you ate one slice of regular pizza – around 300 calories, due to it being mostly carbohydrates you would only burn an extra 30 calories getting the nutrition out of the food. An entire pizza is around 2000 calories.
Scenario 2: If you ate half of an entire Proteinza – around 300 calories, due to it being mostly protein you would burn an extra 90 calories. An entire Proteinza is about 600 calories. You would burn an extra ~180 calories whilst eating Proteinza – taking you to a net total calorie intake of 420 calories for the entire Proteinza!
Maintaining a more steady blood sugar improves hunger and can help burn more fat . When your blood sugar rises fast and high your body goes into “fat storage mode”. Protein dampens this response. Protein helps your blood sugar not go really high or really low – having a steady level throughout the day will keep you in a “fat burning” mode. Proteinza is mostly protein so takes full advantage of this effect!

No. It has been shown that carbohydrates (particularly simple carbs) are the leading cause of obesity. Carbs are high in energy density, addictiveness, and spike blood sugar. They are also low in thermogenic effect of food. They are a rapid energy source and we as Americans eat too many of them. Low Carboydrate diets have been proven to improve fat loss. Howevern, we do not recommend any extreme diets – for example where you cut out a food group (such as atkins/keto etc). Often a macronutrient split like 50% carbs, 30% protein, and 20% fat works just fine. Just ensure you are eating under your Total Daily Energy Expenditure.
